Organization Overview
Memory Care Home Solutions is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that exists to extend and improve quality time at home for families caring for loved ones with memory loss, dementia, or Alzheimer’s disease. This mission is realized through a unique evidence-based intervention program that pairs home-based caregiver training, dementia care education, and occupational therapy with ongoing family follow-up assessment and resource referrals.  

Position Overview
The Director of Advancement reports directly to the Executive Director (ED) and is responsible for leading Memory Care Home Solutions’ fundraising program as outlined in the current Strategic Plan and Development Plan. The Director of Advancement works with corporations, donors, staff, Board Members and community volunteers to plan and execute activities that enhance the public awareness and understanding of the organization and contribute to increased fundraising capacity.

Required Skill Set
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
    Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize initiatives.
    Self-starter who is goal driven and able to manage short-term and long-term goals.
    Maintains a positive attitude and demonstrates professionalism.

Minimum Qualifications
    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years professional fundraising experience.
    Proven track record cultivating relationships with major donor prospects – demonstrated ability to acquire gifts from $5,000 -        $50,000.
    Experience planning events on a large scale with event profit over $200,000.
    Personnel and volunteer management experience.
    Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite

Desired Qualifications
    CFRE Certification.
    Background in healthcare and/or related fields.
    Experience with marketing a nonprofit organization in the St. Louis community.
    Experience with nonprofit budgeting and strategic planning.
    Experience with social media, website management, and public relations.
    Experience with planned giving.


    Oversee and implement MCHS’s organization wide fund development activities to meet goals and contribute to sustainability of the program.
    Execute private and corporate donation solicitations to meet departmental and organizational budget goals.
    Oversee grant program and contracted grant writers through management of prospect research, proposal writing, reporting, and trustee relationship management.
    Oversee Advancement Coordinator and their responsibilities:
    Executing semi-annual fundraising events
    Gift processing, tracking and acknowledgement
    Marketing efforts and management of social media
    Lead long term and short term strategic planning efforts for department.
    Identify, maintain, and cultivate donor prospect pool.
    Identify partnership and funding opportunities and promote relationship-building among MCHS and other organizations and agencies.
    Integrate software to direct and track grant, private donor, and corporate gifts.
    Work with Leadership Team to responsibly develop and manage an Advancement budget that meets organizational needs.
    Facilitate Board of Director’s Advancement Committee.
    Provide counsel to senior leadership through participation in Leadership Team meetings.
     Develop and implement policies and programs required for growth of department and organization.
