Full-time, Academic Professional position in the Office of Advancement, the fundraising arm of the University of Illinois Springfield. Responsibilities include identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift prospects and donors in collaboration with colleges and administrative units of the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) and the University of Illinois Foundation (UIF). Primary duties include: building and maintaining relationships with a large portfolio of prospects and donors; conducting significant local, state, and assigned geographic travel to meet with donors and prospects; and serving as a liaison to assigned campus colleges and units to assist with fundraising planning and execution. Position reports directly to the Vice Chancellor for Advancement, UIS/Senior Vice President, UIF.

Minimum qualifications are a bachelor’s degree and minimum of five (5) years of combined professional experience in alumni relations, development, fundraising, general management, or marketing. Excellent written and oral skills necessary. A master’s degree and demonstrated professional experience in higher education or other nonprofit environment are desirable. Preferred qualifications include the ability to work within a fast-paced, team environment and the ability to assume responsibility for high-level projects.
